Not interested in rowing, but still want to be a part of Linacre Boat Club? Coxing may be the choice for you!

Coxes are the brains behind the boat. They have the very important job of keeping rowers on track while simultaneously tactically steering the boat through the race. If this sounds like something you’re interested in, please reach out to our Captain of Coxes (lbc.captainofcoxes@linacre.ox.ac.uk).
Coxing Briefings
As mandated by OURCs, to become a novice cox, you must attend an official coxing briefing. The session includes a detailed explanation of rowing, river rules, and terminology. These briefings are offered twice a term; we will send reminders in WhatsApp each time one is approaching!
You should bring two passport-sized photos (photocopies or prints are fine if they are clear) for your coxing license. A payment (currently £2.00) is required on the day, but this can be reimbursed by the club as long as you get a receipt. The Captain of Coxes will keep you updated about the dates of these registrations as soon as they are known.
If you are an experienced cox, you still need to register with OURCs and attend a registration meeting. Please get in touch with your captains.
